The Walking Dead Nets WGA Nomination – AMC

Today the Writers Guild of America (WGA) announced its nominees for outstanding achievement in television, radio, news, promotional writing, and graphic animation during the 2010 season. AMC’s The Walking Dead was honored with a nomination in the Best New Series Category.

Series writers Frank Darabont; Charles H. Eglee, Robert Kirkman, Jack LoGiudice and Glen Mazzara are listed in the award nomination. They will face fellow newcomers Boardwalk Empire and Treme (HBO), Men of a Certain Age (TNT) and Justified (FX) for the prestigious award.

The nomination is among six garnered by AMC for 2010: Other nods went to Breaking Bad, for Best Dramatic Series and two Episodic Drama; and Mad Men for Best Dramatic Series and Episodic Drama.
